Abstract

This research was conducted with the aim of analyzing needs related to the development of video-based teaching materials for wood construction work subjects in modeling design and building information skills competencies at SMK Negeri 35 Jakarta. The problem faced is the use of teaching materials that are less creative and less varied, one of which is by improving the learning process in accordance with the demands of information development, namely by using teaching materials. This research used a qualitative descriptive research method involving two wood construction work subject teachers from class X of SMK Negeri 35 Jakarta. Data collection techniques were obtained through interview questions asked to teachers. From the results of the interviews conducted, the results revealed that the teaching materials used were inadequate to meet the appropriate needs of students in learning wood construction work. Thus, it can be concluded that the development of video-based teaching materials is needed to increase the effectiveness of this learning.
